Trout-o-ree at Camp Powhatan
The Blue Ridge Mountains Council will be hosting the 29th Cub Scout and Scouts BSA Trout-o-ree at Camp Powhatan! Fishing is one of Scouting’s essential skills and teaches Scouts to feed themselves, their troops, and their families.
Camping Location
We will be camping at established campsites. Running water and toilet facilities are available.
Planned Activities
A fishing tournament and numerous activities will be held throughout the day. A hot dog lunch, a tournament patch, and a limit of five trout are included for each registered participant.
Scouts will also have the opportunity to learn how to use fishing equipment properly, tie various fishing knots, identify natural fishing baits and artificial lures, and explain safety practices to follow while fishing.
Scouts may earn the fishing merit badge while on this trip.
